When I walked into my first yoga class several years ago, I was stressed out, tired of the gym scene, and not sure if yoga was all I had heard it to be. But once I finished that first class, I felt like I had come home. I left invigorated, much less stressed, and calmer than I had been in a long time. After beginning a consistent practice, I discovered that yoga is about more than just the physical activity—it’s about drawing inward to find a connection between body, mind and the Spirit so that we can become all that God created us to be. It’s about making the choice to come to the mat every day, and meeting our bodies where they are, far more than achieving certain poses (I may never get my chest to the floor in dragonfly, and I’m learning to be okay with that!) It’s about learning new ways of responding to life’s challenges off the mat as well. It is my hope that everyone who attends my yin or alignment-based vinyasa flow classes finds a supportive and comfortable place to explore, regardless of shape, ability or experience. Welcome home!
